Inside the park are identified two areas, one is the garden in front of the museum building, considered important for its land- scape quality, the other zone is a wooded area as a state forest park. The guideline for the project was the identification of these three elements within the site: the enhancement of the historical and cultural aspects of Joenniemi manor, the preservation of the garden in front of the museum building and the restoration of the bridge with 'Taavetinsaari island. The design strategy, provides a building designed as a single linear body hung on the landscape, such as not wanting to disturb the design and the existing soil which combines three elements, beginning from the manor, running alongside the garden, becoming landing place on the island and then continuing his path opening towards the landscape.
